GOLF MATTERS : IBP-MAKATI GOLF-TO-GIVE 2015 HELD

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines Makati City Chapter held its Chapter's 25th Anniversary Golf Tournament : Golf-To-Give 2015 last Friday, 13 November 2015 at Alabang Country Club, Alabang, Muntinlupa City. This "tournament for a cause" is intended to raise funds to support the various community focused, social responsibility programs of IBP Makati. The ceremonial tee off was led by, among others, Atty. Ramon Esguerra, the immediate Past Governor IBP South Luzon and current chair of the IBP's Committee on Bar Discipline and Atty. Gil Roberto Zerrudo, President of IBP Makati. Atty. Jake Corporal of ACCRA Law emerged as the champion for this year. Other winners were: Over-All Lowest Gross-Justin Quiban, Class A Champion-JB Garcia, 1st Runner Up-Dax Garcia, Class B Champion-Francis Yan, 1st Runner Up-Lozano Tan, Class C Champion-Philip Del Carmen, 1st Runner Up-Roy Santos, Class D Champion-Conrad Virinia, 1st Runner Up-Ral Blay, Nearest Pin-Monchu Nolasco, Accurate Drive-Mia Martin and Longest Drive-Rj Maclang....

Emerging threat to trade and investment activities in ASEAN: West Philippine Sea Dispute

On 10 November 2015, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines Makati Chapter "IBP - Makati" , in collaboration with US – ASEAN Business Council Inc. “UABC” , held an informative breakfast forum called "Emerging threat to trade and investment activities in ASEAN: West Philippine Sea Dispute”. This was the first forum in what will be a series of informative fora on diverse topics that IBP – Makati will hold as part of celebrating its 25th anniversary this 2016. Representatives from different member companies of UABC and several officers and members of IBP - Makati attended the forum. President Gbert Zerrudo opened the forum with a brief description of the territorial disputes surrounding the West Philippine Sea or the South China Sea and how it will have a significant effect on the trading route and may lead to strategic control of important air and shipping lanes in Southeast Asia....

Breakfast Forum : West Philippine Sea Dispute

On November 10, 2015, the IBP– Makati Chapter, in collaboration with the US-ASEAN Business Council Inc., held an informative breakfast forum entitled the "Emerging Threat to Trade and Investment Activities in ASEAN: West Philippine Sea Dispute" at the Turf Room of the Manila Polo Club. The US-ASEAN Business Council is an advocacy organization for U.S. corporations operating within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations ASEAN . A video presentation of Supreme Court Justice Carpio’s lecture on the West Philippine Sea territorial dispute was shown. Atty. Batongbacal, Director - Institute for Maritime Affairs and Law of the Sea UP Law Center, acted as rapporteur and responded to the reactions and questions from the attendees consisting of representatives from various private organizations and firms....
