On November 10, 2015,  the IBP– Makati Chapter, in collaboration with the US-ASEAN Business Council Inc., held an informative breakfast forum entitled the "Emerging Threat to Trade and Investment Activities in ASEAN: West Philippine Sea Dispute" at the Turf Room of the Manila Polo Club. The US-ASEAN Business Council is an advocacy organization for U.S. corporations operating within the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

 

A video presentation of Supreme Court Justice Carpio’s lecture on the West Philippine Sea territorial dispute was shown. Atty. Batongbacal, Director - Institute for Maritime Affairs and Law of the Sea UP Law Center, acted as rapporteur and responded to the reactions and questions from the attendees consisting of representatives from various private organizations and firms.

 

This is the first of a series of breakfast lectures on various topics to be sponsored by the Chapter as part of its activities in celebration of its 25th anniversary.
