I Shall Return : IBP-Makati Returns to Leyte to Continue Relief Operations

The IBP-Makati chapter continues to support the rehabilitation of Tanauan, Leyte, a municipality directly hit by typhoon Yolanda located a few kilometers away from Tacloban city. The chapter previously donated financial aid to a charitable institution and fishing boats to selected beneficiaries located at Barangay Sta. Cruz, Tanauan, Leyte. This year, the chapter selected new beneficiaries, the families of Barangay San Roque. On August 13, 2015, the chapter, led its by its President Gbert Zerrudo, donated hardware materials such as galvanized iron sheets, sealants, nails, and hammers to Barangay San Roque. With these materials, dozens of families were benefited by being able to rebuild their homes and fix minor damages. The damage caused by typhoon Yolanda continues to remain noticeable; a lot of work still needs to be done....

SUI Generis : IBP Makati's Governor's Night and Induction of New Members

On 11 September 2015, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines Makati Chapter "IBP - Makati" held its Governor's Night and Induction of New Members. Several officers, both past and present, and members of IBP - Makati and of other IBP Chapters attended the event. It was also exciting to see that most of the new members of IBP – Makati come from premiere law firms in the Philippines. President Gbert Zerrudo jumpstarted the event with a report on the on-going and planned projects of IBP - Makati especially for its silver anniversary in 2016. He also delivered inspiring words to the new members of IBP – Makati. Immediate past president Bienvenido Somera, Jr., who was recently elected as Governor for the IBP - Southern Luzon Region, likewise expressed his gratitude to the IBP – Makati for its support in his election....

Southern Luzon Region Legal Aid Summit 2015

On 12 September 2015, a legal aid summit was conducted at the JBL Hall in the IBP National Office. Chapters of the Southern Luzon Region “SLR” were present such as, Caloocan-Malabon-Navotas, Rizal, Makati, Pasay-Paranaque-Las Pinas-Muntinlupa, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, Aurora, Marinduque, Oriental Mindoro, and Occidental Mindoro where members of their respective legal aid committees were also present. For the Makati City Chapter, President Gbert Zerrudo and Legal Aid Committee Chairman Stan Fabito attended. During the summit each chapter gave a presentation on their best practices in conducting legal aid. A discussion by IBP National President, Rosario T. Setias-Reyes, was also conducted on the proposed draft of the Integrated Bar for the compulsory legal aid service guidelines which would implement Bar Matter No....
