On May 9, 2016, IBP-Makati Chapter sponsored Makati Halalan 2016 providing telephone hotlines from 8 am to 3 pm during election day. Premier lawyers from various Makati-based law firms volunteered to participate and render service in the event. THE RACE FOR THE GAVEL

The Integrated Bar of the Philippines Makati Chapter held its 25th Anniversary Fun Run dubbed as Race for the Gavel last April 24, 2016 Sunday at West McKinley, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. The run was intended to raise funds to support the various community focused, social responsibility programs of the chapter. The program commenced with an invocation led by Kuya Kim Atienza. The president of the IBP-Makati, Atty. Gil Roberto Zerrudo delivered his welcome address and hit the gavel as the gun start of the run. About 400 runners participated in the activity including some well-known personalities such as Dingdong Dantes, Atty. Gilbert Remulla, Bubbles Paraiso and many others. The following emerged as winners: 10K Category, 1st Place: Richard Salanio, 2nd Place: Joackim Kemboi, 3rd Place: Mark Anthony Oximar; 5K Category, 1st Place: Nico Cortez, 2nd Place: Evelou Aburas, 3rd Place: Jujit De Asis; 3k Category, 1st Place: Philip John Gorgob, 2nd Place: James Darril Ourduaian, 3rd Place: Danny Morales; and Special Awardees, Kristina Isabella Dee and Joaquin Gabriel Dee....

Impact to trade, investment and commercial relations in ASEAN: West Philippine Sea Dispute

On 16 February 2016, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines Makati Chapter "IBP - Makati" , in collaboration with Australian-New Zealand Chamber of Commerce “ANZCHAM” , held a successful informative breakfast forum called " Impact to trade, investment and commercial relations in ASEAN: West Philippine Sea Dispute”. This was the second forum in a series of informative fora on diverse topics that IBP – Makati is holding as part of celebrating its 25th anniversary this 2016. The forum was well-attended as representatives from different member companies of ANZCHAM, several officers and members of IBP – Makati, and members of the Australian diplomatic service, including Ambassador Amanda Gorely, attended the forum. President Gbert Zerrudo opened the forum with a brief description of the territorial disputes surrounding the West Philippine Sea or the South China Sea and how it will have a significant effect on the trading route and may lead to strategic control of important air and shipping lanes in Southeast Asia....
